Quote of the Week: Following Christ
"When Christ calls a man, he bid him come and die." -Dietrich Bonhoeffer
Bonhoeffer's words capture the essence of what it means to follow Christ. To embrace Jesus is to deny ourselves, our agenda, our desires, our plans, our selfish wants. Added to that, we are to "take up our cross." In other words, we must die to ourselves that we might live for God (see Luke 9:23-24). Though the cost of discipleship is great, the reward of knowing Christ and experiencing the abundant life he gives is greater! Do you follow Christ in the way Bonhoeffer describes?
